T-Mobile LG G5 owners over at reddit began reporting yesterday that they were able to pull an update to Android Nougat. T-Mobile hasn’t said anything official, as far as I can tell, plus their software support page for the G5 hasn’t been updated in almost a month, but that doesn’t mean a number of people weren’t able to get the update to show up.
According to the reddit thread linked below, the update arrives at 1.2GB in size, requires a full charge to initiate, and may only install overnight. Once updated, users should get the full Nougat experience with LG’s skin on top. That means split-screen mode, bundled notifications, direct reply within notifications, access to more emoji, and more. You can view the whole Nougat feature list here.
T-Mobile joins Sprint as the latest US carrier to issue Nougat to the G5.
