MIUI 8 is now rolling out to several Xiaomi devices, the Chinese company announced on its forums.Read more: What’s new in MIUI 8MIUI 8 was first introduced in May, alongside the Mi Max phablet. It redesigns several important parts of the user interface and brings new features like power saving mode, app startup management, a spam filter for the messaging app, a revamped Notes app, various utilities, and an enhanced gallery app.The update is rolling out to the global ROM, with Chinese versions also receiving the bump to MIUI 8. Xiaomi released a public beta for the new version in July, and initially promised the OTA rollout for August 16.Today, the MIUI 8 OTA will roll out to the Redmi 1S, Mi 2/2S, Mi 4i, Redmi Note 3G, Redmi Note 4G. Some users – but presumably not all – of the Redmi Note 2 and Redmi 2 should also expect a notification. By August 25, all users of these devices should expect seeing an OTA update notification.As for other devices, Xiaomi says they will receive MIUI 8 progressively, “in the near future.” The devices that are officially confirmed to receive MIUI 8 are Mi Max, Mi Note, Mi 5, Mi 4, Mi 4i, Mi 3, Mi 2, Redmi Note Prime, Redmi Note 3, Redmi Note 2, Redmi Note, Redmi 2 Prime, Redmi 2 and Redmi 1s.Head over to the MIUI forums for more details and let us know if you’ve got the update!
