Google’s Pixel C gets the teardown treatment

Pixel C-2It’s one thing to know how to use an Android device, but to understand what goes into making one? That’s no easy task. Thanks to the folks at iFixit, though, we get to take a look at what’s inside our favorite Android tablet, the Pixel C.The Pixel C is a solid device. It’s made of aluminum and doesn’t feel cheap in the slightest. Because of this, the iFixit team needed to apply a good amount of heat and use a pretty heavy duty suction cup to peek inside the device. It latches on to the tablet with magnets — 17 of them, to be exact. In fact, iFixit went one step further than they usually do and tore down the keyboard attachment as well.Pixel C teardown 4All in all, the Pixel C received a repairability score of 4 out of 10. Although many parts like the USB Type-C port are modular and can be easily replaced, there’s a good amount of adhesive pretty much all throughout the inside of the tablet.Interested in learning more?
