This week, SanDisk introduced new flash drives for owners of devices that feature USB Type-C ports. Coming in different sizes, such as 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB, the flash drives can quickly transfer data from your Android device — as long as it has a Type-C port — to a laptop or Chromebook device.
Estimated by SanDisk, the amount of devices with a Type-C port sold across the world will increase about 800% by the year 2020. With that in mind, many companies, not just mobile storage, will look to hit the market with more accessories that allow for the use of USB Type-C.
As for specs, the Ultra Dual Drive USB Type-C flash drives deliver USB 3.1 performance of up to 150MB/s. With that, users should have no problem quickly transferring movies to watch while traveling, music libraries to listen to, or any other data one may want to move. The Ultra USB Type-C flash drive also works with the SanDisk Memory Zone app for Android, available on Google Play. This app gives users an easy way to manage and back up content on their device.
The new USB Type-C flash drives come in capacities of 16GB, 32GB, 64GB and 128GB with U.S. retail prices of $19.99, $29.99, $39.99 and $69.99, respectively.

The phone is set for release on Japan’s smallest major mobile service provider, KDDI au, sometime in mid-June, and while pricing has not been set, it will probably retail for around 90,000 yen, or roughly $810. For reference, the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge which launched a few weeks ago, is even more expensive. Phones in Japan are typically much more costly than they are overseas, something that was covered with last year’s bizarre Nexus situation that saw the mid-range 5X retail for more than the premium 6P. Spec-wise the phone is the same as the international variant with the exception that 1-Seg wireless broadcasting will be included (most likely via an included headset adapter) and the 10 will be compatible with Japan’s variant of NFC, called FeliCa.Curiously there will be no silver colored variant made available to customers, with the other two options being the black and gold shades.
Engadget Japan Those immediately considering importing the device should be aware that (1) KDDI au operates on a CDMA network, (2) Japanese carriers make customers wait for 6 months after purchase before the phones can be unlocked, and (3) Japanese carriers are absolutely atrocious when it comes to firmware updates. This last point is all the more pertinent given that au will have an untold amount of bloat burned into the ROM, and HTC has zero market presence in Japan; Android N likely wouldn’t land on it until Spring/Summer 2017 or later.Given the emergence of this red color in one market, it is likely only a matter of time before it hits Asia major, or at the very least Hong Kong, Taiwan, and China.

Google Now on Tap hasn’t exactly lived up to the hype of its introduction. Like many other Google products, it seems unfinished, a work on progress. The bright side is we can expect cool new features to drop at any time and that’s exactly what we’re getting today.Several Reddit users are reporting seeing a new option in the Google Now on Tap bar. The new button lets you select specific words that you want to see search results on.The ability to select specific search terms has been high on our wish list for Now on Tap. Up until now, Now on Tap would try to guess what search terms you were interested in. This worked great in many cases, but occasionally, it would miss exactly the terms you were actually interested in. It’s not clear if this is the beginning of full-scale rollout or an A/B test, the sort of which Google is known to engage in all the time.Personally, I checked multiple devices running the latest version of Google app, without any luck. The OnePlus 3 is coming in just two weeks.OnePlus put up a teaser page on its Chinese website that states that the OnePlus 3 will be introduced at a “conference” on June 15 at 10AM. That’s Chinese time; in the United States, the time will be 10PM (June 14) EDT or 7PM (June 14) PDT.In a blog post on its Chinese website, the company confirmed that it will introduce the OnePlus 3 at the event.The teaser celebrates the International Children’s Day. OnePlus asked kids from several countries to let their imagination loose and draw the OnePlus 3. The results are quite adorable.OnePlus launched the OnePlus 2 on July 27, 2015 at 11PM EDT (July 28, 11AM Beijing time). It looks like the OnePlus 3 launch event will start a bit earlier this time.OnePlus is not hosting a classic press event for the OnePlus 3. Instead, we’re all invited to done our VR headsets (preferably a Loop VR) and watch the unveiling of the new phone in the virtual settings of the Loop space station. The first OnePlus 3 units to go on sale will be available through VR as well.The announcement confirms the leak from last week, when a OnePlus representative let the June 14 release date slip in a conversation with a customer.The OnePlus 3 will feature a Snapdragon 820 processor, 4GB or 6GB of RAM, 64GB of storage space, a 5.5-inch Full HD OLED screen, a 3,000 mAh battery, and a 16MP camera. While the tech world seem to be fixated on the hot mess that is the LG G5, it’s important to remember the Korean conglomerate has other offerings that are not made to be modular. Offerings of a lower price-point that cater to the needs of a more specific set of customers. One such product is the newly announced LG Stylus 2 Plus, a follow-up to the original LG Stylus 2 launched back in February, but with some key components changed.Specs include a 5.7-inch Full HD (1920 X 1280) display, a 1.4GHz Octa-Core SoC, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of on-board storage, an embedded rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, and a 3,000mAh battery.Regarding the camera, in some markets the Stylus 2 Plus will come with a 16-megapixel rear camera and 8-megapixel front camera. For all other markets however, the phone will ship with the same pair as the original Stylus 2 featured: a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera.Regarding the RAM, in some regions it appears there will be 3GB instead of the standard 2GB. In addition some regions will receive a unit with 32GB of on-board storage.Putting aside the potential camera upgrades, the only main differences here are the increase display resolution – the original featured a 5.7-inch 720p screen, a slight increase in SoC performance – the original featured a 1.2GHz chip – and some extra RAM – the original featured 1.5GB.
The stylus pen found on the handset has a nano-coated tip that supposedly offers greater accuracy compared to standard rubber-tipped styluses. The handset also includes some stylus-optimized extras such as a feature called Pen Pop – a nifty mode that toggles a special shortcut menu when the stylus is removed – and Pen Keeper, which notifies users should they stray from the pointed pen.Juno Cho, President of LG Electronics and Mobile Communications, describes the product as follows:The LG Stylus 2 Plus offers users a spacious screen, powerful multimedia functionality and a writing experience at a competitive price.
